DESKJOB TYPEFACE

Designed in 2016, Deskjob is a typeface with 2 faces (Ribbed & Regular). I originally started drawing this typeface whilst working a deskjob to support my study, this is where the name comes from.

The letterforms take inspiration from the Bauhaus tradition, taking the modernist drawings of Herbert Bayer and Paul Renner as a starting point. Instead of concealing its geometric nature I took a more brutalist aproach, making a feature of the contrasts between the circular and angular shapes found within the letterforms, giving the typeface a ribbed look and harsh constructivist edge.
